materials:
- Jazz paint in assorted colors
- various paint brushes
- butcher paper in white and kraft (brown)
- glue
- newspaper

procedure:
- cover work area with newspaper
- cut out the kraft paper in a long strip half the width of the white
paper
- glue kraft paper on top of white (so its half white and half brown)
- paint insects, plant root systems, insect tunnels on the bottom half
and plants, rocks, flying and crawling insects above
