Fun activity to occupy guests at a birthday party.

materials:
- Jazz paint in assorted colors
- thick paper cut in strips long enough to fit around child's head
- assorted paint brushes
- pencil or chalk
- paint trays
- water
- stapler
- newspaper

procedure:
- cover work area with newspaper
- paint birthday party theme onto long strip of paper and let dry
- cut out desired shape (i.e., crown) across one edge of paper
- put paper around child's head to determine size
- staple ends together (with adult supervision or help)

handy hints:
Paint applied too thickly may crack and fall off of the paper after drying.
Jr. jazz 'truly washable' may be best as it washes out of clothing. |
